 A remarkable migration experience at Hawk Ridge on a record-setting day provided a memorable birding experience, but photographing birds was especially difficult. Most migrating birds were flying very high, although this young Sharp-shinned Hawk that flew nearby at treetop level provided a couple flight photos.  Although a season-high number of Broad-winged Hawks was migrating, realistically, this Broad-winged Hawk provided the only low-elevation photo opportunity.
