A First State Record Cassin’s Kingbird was documented in the Pleasant View area near Springfield, Missouri last week.

Four First State Records were established by birders last week, including a Crescent-chested Warbler in Texas, a Bar-tailed Godwit in Delaware, a Mexican Duck in Kansas, and a Cassin’s Kingbird in Missouri. Among many other notable rare sightings were a Crimson-collard Grosbeak and Fan-tailed Warbler. The Pribilof Islands in far western Alaska are heating up again, with Asian species photographed that included a Hawfinch, Eyebrowed Thrush, Olive-backed Pipit, and a Long-toed Stint.
