A Second State Record American Pipit was photographed at a remote location of Alakai Swamp on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. Two Eurasian species documented on this side of the Pacific last week included a Common Crane observed with Sandhills near Lewellen, Nebraska, and a White Wagtail in Ketchikan in southern Alaska. The short list of new rare bird sightings last week is rounded out by a Laughing Gull photographed in Tokeland, Washington; but there is a long list of Continuing Rare Birds including the Gray Heron in Nova Scotia.
