The Steller’s Sea Eagle has been relocated after weeks beyond birders’ sight! Guess where? But even more surprising was the documentation of a Fifth North American Record Swallow-tailed Gull sighted in Oceanside, California, which also established a Fourth State Record. As for First State Record birds last week, 3 were documented including a First State Record Phainopepla in Minnesota, American Oystercatchers that created a First State Record in Kentucky, and a First State Record Blackburnian Warbler photographed in Ketchikan, Alaska. As for the Steller’s Sea Eagle, its latest sighting established a First Territorial Record for Saint Pierre et Miquelon. There were also 8 other record-setting sightings logged, along with a host of other exciting off-course rare birds.
