Vermont’s Backyard Bird Quest is Saturday

Vermont’s birders will be searching for Wilson’s Warbler and every other bird they can find during the Backyard Bird Quest – good luck!

Birders across Vermont will spend this Saturday, May 23rd, participating in a 24-hour birding blitz using social distancing techniques modeled after a traditional “Big Sit” – birding within a 17-foot diameter circle – or by thoroughly exploring a defined area around their home during the period. Participants will be socially distancing while birding individually or with their families, with the goal of raising awareness and funding to support the Vermont Center for Ecostudies’ wildlife and habitat conservation projects.
