Live Cam Views into Active Nest Sites

You can monitor 2 growing nestlings at the Great Gray Owl nesting snag in western Montana, provided by the Owl Research Institute through Explore.org.

It’s nesting season, and now you can see all the action at the nest sites of some exceptional birds of prey, specifically Peregrine Falcons, Great Gray Owls, and American Kestrels. Each of the live camera feeds give you close views of young broods of falcons, owls, and kestrels, and with the nestlings growing fast, you are likely to see an adult feeding the young birds – live and without concern for the many people watching remotely. Without these impressive live camera feeds available online, few people would ever see the action at a Peregrine Falcon or Great Gray Owl nest site – but it’s easy for you online now.

When we observed the nest sites Saturday afternoon the adult female Peregrine was feeding her 4 downy white nestlings in their falcon nest box positioned on a tall building overlooking the Mississippi River in St. Paul, Minnesota. The 5 small downy American Kestrels were impatiently waiting for their next feeding bout in southwest Wisconsin. Best of all, a huge adult Great Gray Owl was perched on the snag where it nested, next to its 2 inquisitive nestlings on a sunny afternoon in the midst of a wild Montana forest. The best thing about these live nest cams is that you can check in to see what the birds are doing anytime you think about it, watching them grow and interact in the process until they leave the nest site – Enjoy!
