Birds of the Pacific Northwest

Birds of the Pacific Northwest, A Photographic Guide

In this updated second edition of the best-selling field guide, Birds of the Pacific Northwest, A Photographic Guide, you will appreciate a fine compact regional field guide that provides full-page species descriptions, range maps, and more than 900 color photographs. Range maps cover all of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, much of British Columbia, and portions of western Montana and Wyoming. This is a prime resource for enjoying many of the bird species found in the Pacific Northwest region, which is rich in protected wildlands and iconic national parks.

Authors Tom Aversa, Richard Cannings, and Hal Opperman illuminate the key identification traits, vocalizations, seasonal status, habitat preferences, feeding and behavior of selected bird species that are illustrated with color photos by the region’s top bird photographers. Like most regional field guides, it doesn’t include all bird species found in the Northwest; therefore, although it is a fine publication, this second edition should be used in combination with an all-inclusive field guide to the birds of North America.
