March Birding Festivals – Spring Migration

During the Presqu’ile Waterfowl Weekend, birders could find as many as 20 species of ducks, including Hooded Mergansers (photo by Paul Konrad).

March birding festivals highlight owls, cranes, bluebirds, and waterfowl along with a variety of birds as early spring migration activities bring birders together to get into the field with local guides and to learn from featured speakers and others who make each birding festival unique and extra enjoyable. Birding festivals give anyone interested in birds a chance to gather for a mix of social opportunities, including birding walks, field trips, banquets, and more. Each birding festival and each location where they are held are unique and welcoming, which keeps people returning annually.
