WBU Barred Owl Live Cam Action

The interior camera view shows the female Barred Owl incubating, but about mid-April you should see a downy nestling or 2; then watch how quickly they grow.

It’s official, although a little later than usual, a pair of Barred Owls have begun nesting at the Wild Birds Unlimited’s big nest box in southern Ohio, which you can monitor any time, day or night, via their live video camera feed. This year, the first egg was laid March 11, with a second egg laid March 16; however, there are some complications to report. The female did not begin incubating the first egg for 2 days during sub-freezing temperatures, which raises the question about the viability of the first egg, and the female’s behavior suggests a new pair may be using the big nest box this spring.

Now you can check in on the 2 live camera feeds anytime – one showing the inside of the nest box and the other providing an outside view. There is not a lot of action at this time while the female incubates for 28 to 33 days, but check back periodically to see the progress as the nesting period continues at WBU Barred Owl Cam | Interior and Exterior Owl Nest Box Camera Views | Wild Birds Unlimited
