To be alerted to the rarest birds as soon as they are reported from across the continent – such as a South Polar Skua – refer to North American Rare Bird Alert.

If you want to keep aware of rare birds sighted across North America with a level of urgency, the North American Rare Bird Alert will keep you updated by email and via their comprehensive website as soon as new rare birds are reported from Alaska to Florida, Newfoundland to California. Founded in 1985, the North American Rare Bird Alert (NARBA) continues today through a partnership between Houston Audubon and BirdsEye Birding that moved the NARBA alerts into the mobile arena via cell phone and computer email communications.
The NARBA continues its tradition of essentially being a volunteer-run organization, but overall management is provided by BirdsEye Birding, a leading bird identification app provider.
