A remarkable First North American Record Cattle Tyrant, a flycatcher species never before documented north of Panama, was photographed in downtown Corpus Christi, Texas last week! The sighting also constitutes a First State Record for Texas, and other First Records include a Pygmy Nuthatch in Saskatchewan, a Black Guillemot in Florida, a Short-tailed Shearwater in New York, and a Limpkin for New Jersey. There was a Second Provincial Record Tundra Bean Goose reported in Nova Scotia, and Rhode Island birders reported 2 new sightings, a Third State Record Bell’s Vireo and a Fourth State Record Townsend’s Solitaire – and there’s much more.
