The Third Provincial Record of a Burrowing Owl was documented at Shelburne, Nova Scotia.

Last week a First Provincial Record Wilson’s Plover was documented by birders in New Brunswick, as was a First State Record Heermann’s Gull in Louisiana, and a Third Provincial Record Burrowing Owl in Nova Scotia. Another Canadian sighting of note was a Common Ringed Plover in Newfoundland, with other American rare birds including a spectacular Eurasian Hobby at St. Paul Island in the Pribilofs of far western Alaska, and another Asian species, a Red-necked Stint in Washington.
