The New Zeiss SFL 8x40 Binoculars!
|
The New SFL – SmartFocus and Lightweight – Zeiss SFL 40 Binoculars are being introduced by Zeiss today! Providing exceptional optical performance combined with a compact and lightweight design, the new binoculars come in 2 models, the Zeiss SFL 8x40 and 10x40, the newest in the Zeiss SF line of binoculars. Thanks to the reduced lens diameter, the use of thinner and more closely spaced lens elements, and the rugged and durable magnesium housing, the Zeiss SFL 40 binocular is an exceptionally lightweight yet reliable birding companion.
“Our new Zeiss SFL 40 allows users to experience birds with incredible ease by combining the advantages of high-performance binoculars with the compact design of smaller binoculars,” said Leon-Roderic Kunad, Head of Category Management Nature Observation at Zeiss.
“Especially when on long trips in the great outdoors, all the equipment you need can become a burden as every ounce adds up,” Kunad explained. “That’s why our primary goal was to develop binoculars that are not only lightweight, compact, and tripod adaptable, but also offer incredible image quality for memorable moments of birding observations.”
Color Fidelity and Sharpness of Detail
The new Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) concept offers exceptional color fidelity and high image resolution thanks to the perfect combination of optimized lens coatings and a sophisticated optical design for truly natural and detailed birding experiences. The 90 percent light transmission and T* multicoating deliver impressive images, even in twilight conditions.
Zeiss’s proprietary FieldFlattener technology provides edge-to-edge clarity, with a wide field of view of up to 420 feet at 1,000 yards for the 8x40 model. Adding the close focusing distance of 4.9 feet, these binoculars deliver an incredible combination for viewing up close as well as at varied distances. “Combining high image resolution and precise detail recognition, the Zeiss
SFL allows birders to distinguish between even the smallest features in plumage and to reliably
identify different species,” Kunad reports. This is complemented by the LotuTec coating on the lenses, which guarantees a clear view even in rain and snow thanks to its beading effect.
Simple, Intuitive Operation with Perfect Ergonomics
“When observing birds, sometimes a few seconds is the different between missing or observing a memorable species. That’s why it’s so important that users can operate the binoculars intuitively and easily,” Kunad added. Thanks to the proven SmartFocus concept and the ideally positioned focusing wheel, users can focus quickly and precisely, even when wearing gloves. Using only 1.4 rotations to dial from close focus to infinity, the SFL is the perfect combination between speed and precision. With the improved eyecups and very large exit pupil in relation to the binoculars’ compact size, the new Zeiss SFL binoculars deliver a comfortable viewing experience.
The Zeiss SFL 8x40 and 10x40 Binoculars will be available from authorized dealers starting in July 2022. For more information about the Zeiss SFL models, see www.zeiss.com/nature/sfl
