The Audubon Bird Photo Contest

An impressive portrait of a hard to find western bird was taken just as the White-headed Woodpecker landed on a snow-covered branch by Jean Tuomi, who submitted this photo to the 2020 contest.
An impressive collage of some of 2021’s winning bird photos.

Enter your best bird photos through March 8th to be judged among the quality bird photos being submitted to the 2022 Audubon Photography Contest. Judges will award 8 prizes to photographers and videographers: The Grand Prize, Professional Prize, Amateur Prize, Youth Prize, Plants for Birds Prize, Fisher Prize, Female Bird Prize, and Video Prize. Winners will be awarded cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to $1,000, with the winner of the Youth Prize awarded a week at a special Audubon Youth Camp.

In support of the Audubon Photography Awards, the National Audubon Society professes that “Photography, at its best, can heighten our awareness, allowing us to see the world more clearly. The same could be said about birding. And when we combine the 2, magical things happen. Focusing our attention on the winged wonders that share our planet can reveal everything from the finest details to the largest patterns of life.”
