Special Offer on New Smartphone App for eBird Logging

The BirdLog app for iPhone, iPad, and Android that allows eBirders to enter their observations directly from the field is on sale for only 99 cents through Feb. 18 as a special promotion highlighting the integration of the 2013 Great Backyard Bird Count and eBird.

BirdLog allows eBirders to enter their observations directly from the field. Keep track of the birds as you go, and then submit the checklist to eBird with one click. BirdLog is fully integrated with your eBird account, allowing access to your personal locations for data entry, as well as the full suite of eBird hotspots, and perhaps most importantly, it allows you to create new locations using your smartphone's location services. For all of us at eBird, the BirdLog app has fundamentally improved our ability to collect data on birds. If you want to record what you see in the field, this is the app to do it. Leave no checklist behind, start entering your data with BirdLog today!

BirdLog is on sale now through 18 February as a special promotion surrounding the integration of the Great Backyard Bird Count and eBird. This year you'll be able to participate in the GBBC through eBird, and you'll be able to enter your data in the field from around the world using BirdLog. The sale applies to all regional versions (North America, Mexico and Central America, Australia and New Zealand, UK and Europe, and South America) for both Android and iOS. It does not include the World version.

BirdLog was developed by Birds In The Hand, LLC, of Virginia, creators of the BirdsEye bird-finding app, available for iPhone. Their mission is to support eBird growth and development. eBird and its participants benefit when high quality data are entered, and BirdLog is designed to improve overall data quality and timeliness. We would appreciate eBirders reaching out and recommending eBird and BirdLog to their friends.

BirdLog is available for iPhone and iPad via the iTunes app store or at the Google Play app store for Android devices. A portion of the proceeds goes to fund research and conservation work at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
