This immature American Flamingo is 1 of 2 that made it as far north as Caesar Creek State Park in Ohio (photo by Rick Luehrs). It should be especially interesting to see how the hurricane flamingos disperse during coming weeks and months.

Last week a First North American Record Gray Gull was documented in Florida, and a Second Canadian Record Shining Cowbird was reported in Quebec! American Flamingos continue to hold birders’ attention across the eastern side of the United States, with documented sighting reported in 10 states! Most sightings have been in Florida, but flamingos have been documented as far north as Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, and as far west as southeast Texas, with other sightings in North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Alabama.
