Join the excitement of being a member of "The Biggest Birding Team" during the Global Big Day, celebrated each May during peak bird migration around the world! Global Big Day is an annual celebration of the birds around you, wherever you are, wherever you go, and you can participate as long as you wish โ€“ 15 minutes or 15 hours on Saturday May 9th. Last year during Global Big Day, birders collected more data about birds during a single day than ever before, with birders reporting more than 7,931 different species of birds collectively during a single day in 204 countries worldwide! Will this be the year we pass 8,000 species during a single day?

After your birding episode(s) during Global Big Day, share the birds you find on eBird, along with hundreds of thousands of other birders active worldwide May 9th. Last year birders also shared 82,550 photographs of birds (see 82,550 photos of birds), plus more photos that show the birders themselves and others that show the habitats they visited during that marvelous May migration day!

Participating is easy, enjoy birding for any period during Global Big Day, identify and count all the birds you see and report your list to eBird online.
