The ABA Rare Bird Alert’s Highlights

Two Taiga Bean Geese were found near Port Renfrew, British Columbia, which not only established a First Provincial Record but also an exciting Third Canadian Record (photo by Trevor Henry).

Birders in southern British Columbia have been active lately, with their most recent find being 2 Taiga Bean Geese, which created a First Provincial Record and an exciting Third Canadian Record! Birders in 3 states also found record birds, including a First State Record Glaucous-winged Gull in New Jersey, a Second State Record Crested Caracara in Maryland, and a Third State Record Mountain Plover in Idaho. Other rare finds included a Brant in Colorado, a Crested Caracara in Michigan, a Short-billed Gull in Illinois, and a Townsend's Warbler in North Carolina.
