The Live Panama Hummingbird Cam Returns

Male White-necked Jacobins have been the most common feeder visitors at the Panama Hummingbird Feeder live cam (photo by Luke Seitz).
Every bit as spectacular as the male, a female White-necked Jacobin can be seen on the live cam with a variety of other tropical species (photo by Ian Hearn).

In case you are missing the hummingbirds of summer, or if you are interested in the tropical birds, you will surely be interested in viewing the dazzling color and high-speed flights provided by the Panama Hummingbird Feeder Cam, a live camera view that is focused on the nectar feeder that attracts a flurry of tropical hummingbirds at Canopy Tower in Soberania National Park in central Panama. Watch as White-necked Jacobins are joined by other colorful hummingbirds, such as Snowy-bellied Hummingbirds and Blue-chested Hummingbirds, as well as a cryptically colored Long-billed Hermit and others at Panama Hummingbird Cam Returns With Tropical Treasures | Cornell Lab Bird Cams (allaboutbirds.org)

There is also a fine video that has been produced to help you identify the 8 most common species that visit the Panama hummingbird feeder, including Blue-chested Hummingbirds (male and female), Rufous-tailed Hummingbird, Snowy-bellied Hummingbird, Long-billed Hermit, Stripe-throated Hermit, Violet-bellied Hummingbirds (male and female), White-necked Jacobins (male and female), and White-vented Plumeleteer (male and female); see Common Species From The Panama Hummingbird Feeder Cam (youtube.com)

You can also scroll to the “Species Info” section at the bottom of the Panama Hummingbird Feeder Cam webpage to see colorful photographs of the variety of hummingbirds that have been observed to date at the feeder to help you identify the hummingbirds you see during a viewing session. The Panama Hummingbird Feeder Cam is provided by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology as part of All About Birds. Check back periodically to see what hummingbirds are drawn to the nectar feeder as you watch – it’s quite a thrill!
