Bird Rescue

A large number of beached sick and emaciated seabirds — especially Red-throated and Pacific Loons — are being rescued along Santa Barbara's coastline, according to International Bird Rescue's Los Angeles wildlife center.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Newton, which brought heavy rain to parts of the desert Southwest last week, also stranded hundreds of seabirds away from saltwater, prompting a major rescue effort by Tucson Wildlife Center.
