The Great Canadian Birdathon – Birding for Conservation

Join the fun with Bird Studies Canada during the Great Canadian Birdathon – as a team, an individual, or as a donor. Pick any day in May as your Birdathon day, then try to find as many different species of birds within that 24-hour period. Your Birdathon goals can be the number of different species you hope to find, the number of new people you introduce to birding, and the amount of money you hope to raise through the Birdathon. Funds raised support important bird conservation and research projects across Canada, such as an exciting project on Canada Jays that last year’s Birdathon made possible.

Donations to the Great Canadian Birdathon are tax creditable (in Canada), and registered participants receive a stylish T-shirt and are eligible to win some fantastic prizes from Birdathon sponsors: Eagle-Eye Tours, Vortex Canada, Kowa, and Armstrong Bird Food. Last year’s Birdathon participants raised more than $200,000 for conservation work across Canada!

And Bird Studies Canada encourages you to “Fledge a New Birder” during the Great Canadian Birdathon. Take an interested student, friend, family member, or co-worker and show them the fun of birding while sharing the importance of bird conservation.
