Black Swamp Bird Observatory Honors Volunteers

Three outstanding volunteers received BSBO's most prestigious awards at its annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic.

The amount of time, effort, and energy volunteers contribute to BSBO is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Selecting individuals whose efforts are above and beyond is a bit like trying to decide which Blackburnian Warbler is the most beautiful. But this year, we selected three people who we feel embody the true spirit of giving back to the birds.

Nancy Bogart and Deb Neidert were named BSBO's Volunteers of the Year, and received the Shieldcastle Award for outstanding volunteer service. John Blodgett received the Conservation Service Award for exemplary service to the cause of bird conservation.

Our sincere thanks to Nancy, Deb, and John, and to our entire team of volunteers for all that they give to BSBO's mission. Without them, BSBO's work would not be possible.
