Carson Valley, Nev. Presents Eagles & Agriculture

Eagles & Agriculture, the Carson Valley's celebration of wildlife and ranching, has set its schedule for its thirteenth year of exploring the interaction between eagles and other raptors and the ranches of Carson Valley. Headquartered at the Carson Valley Inn and set for February 19-22, 2015, this year's lineup includes one new offering along with long time favorites.

Thursday night, the Opening Reception at Holiday Inn Express brings together some of the area's most accomplished wildlife photographers for an exhibit and the kestrel and snowy owl will return as well.

On Friday, the tours begin with the Wetlands Tour in the morning and the Raptor Highway & Byway Tour in the afternoon. On Friday night, the Falconers' dinner returns to Carson Valley Inn for your chance to view gyrfalcons, harris hawks and other raptors up close and to meet their handlers. A four course dinner is served and we continue to work on the speaker lineup.

Saturday morning, the heart of the weekend, the Ranch & Eagle Tour & Luncheon takes you to a number of ranches for a behind the gates tour and raptor and eagle viewing. That afternoon, the ever popular Owl Prowl and the 'Ins and Outs of Agriculture - the HIstoric Stodieck Ranch' tour give you a chance to explore further. On Saturday evening, the classroom session of the Photo Workshop, taught by Craig Moore of Gordon's is held at Holiday Inn Express.

On Sunday morning, for the first time ever, we are offering the Ranch & Eagle Tour & Luncheon program for a second time. Sunday morning is also when the field exercise of the Photo Workshop, led by John Humphrey, puts the classroom knowledge into action. Sunday afternoon the final tour is of the Comstock Seed Co, a historic ranch converted to a new business model.
