N. Oregon Coast Birdathon to Raise Funds for Wildlife Center

The North Oregon Coast Birdathon will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 13. Anyone can participate: expert birders, casual birdwatchers and beginners, as individuals or in teams.

A birdathon is similar to a walkathon, but rather than raising funds per mile, the event will raise funds per bird species observed in Clatsop County. The event is a fundraiser for the Wildlife Center of the North Coast, in Astoria, Ore. (http://coastwildlife.org), which rescues and rehabilitates birds.

To be an official participant in the birdathon, each person must solicit at least $30 worth of pledges or contribute a $30 participation fee, or a combination thereof.
A Celebration Ceremony will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. April 14 at the Sea Ranch Event Lodge in Cannon Beach. The event will feature prize awards and sharing stories and pictures.
