Last week birders found three new state record birds that included a First State Record Yellow-browed Warbler in Ontario, a First State Record Common Crane in New York, and a Sixth State Record Little Blue Heron in Las Vegas, Nevada. Eurasian Ruffs were identified in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Ohio; and a Painted Redstart was documented in Colorado. New York birders were surprised to find a Burrowing Owl in Brooklyn, and a Brant was observed far from an ocean shore in Iowa, and there’s more.
