The obvious find of the week was the Second North American Record of a Pine Flycatcher documented in Rose Canyon, east of Tucson, Arizona (photo by Derek Hameister)

It was exciting to hear about the Second North American Record Pine Flycatcher found near Tucson, Arizona last week, which also constitutes a Second State Record for Arizona. There was also a First Provincial Record established by Alberta birders who found a Bar-tailed Godwit. Of special interest was Missouri’s First State Record Limpkin documented near Taberville, which was quickly followed by a Second State Record Limpkin photographed at Mingo National Wildlife Refuge – and there’s many more exciting rare birds to report this week.
