Birding Festivals to Herald the New Year
Wednesday January 9, 2019   |
Reddish Egret

With the holidays behind us, January brings a wealth of birding festivals each year – mostly across the southern tier of states – and some are phenomenal. Hopefully you can find one close to home, but what better way of getting to know a new area and its birds – and enjoy some warmer weather – than to attend a birding festival where local birders will share favorite hotspots and winter bird communities. Some January birding festivals include the Everglades Birding Festival, Morro Bay Winter Bird Festival, Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival, and more!

For more information about the dates and locations of the season’s birding festivals coast to coast, see our comprehensive Calendar at the bottom of the Home Page of The Birding Wire. For more information about what activities, field trips and speakers individual birding festivals have to offer, just type the name of the event into your internet search engine (Google for example) and you can see which festivals you want to begin making plans to attend.
