Indiana Young Birder’s Conference Comes to Indianapolis August 18

The Indiana Audubon Society and Indiana Young Birders Club will hold its 6th annual Young Birders Conference will be held August 18 at the Cool Creek Nature Center in Carmel, Indiana.  The event includes early morning birding, presentations by young birders, quizzes and raffle prizes as part of the daylong event.

A special keynote presentation will take feature Teodelina Martelli, a seventeen-year-old California birder who has been drawing birds since she was three. She will present “Notes on the Condor,” highlighting her experience with the conservation of one of the country's rarest birds. Teodelina was recently awarded the American Birding Association’s Young Birder of the Year Award.

Both adults and youth interested in birds and nature will find a diverse set of activities available at this year’s event.  The Indiana Young Birders Club was created in 2009 and promotes the excitement of birds and nature exploration for Hoosier youth.

You can register now online with early bird rates of $20 for adults, $12 for youth 12 to 18 years of age, and free for children under 12.  Registration for the day includes lunch catered by Moe’s Southwest Grill.
