Outdoor Alabama Photo Contest Now Open

The 14th Outdoor Alabama Photo Contest is now accepting entries through October 31, 2018. The contest is a joint project between the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Alabama Tourism Department and the Alabama Bicentennial Commission. The photo contest is open to state residents and visitors, but qualifying photos must be taken in Alabama.

The contest is open to adults and youth. To enter, upload digital images online from a computer, tablet or mobile phone. A total of 10 photos per person may be entered in the following categories: Birds of a Feather, Watchable Wildlife, Nature-Based Recreation, State Park Adventures, Bugs and Butterflies, Coastal Life, Cold-blooded Critters, Alabama Bicentennial, Shoots and Roots, Sweet Home Alabama, Waterfalls and Young Photographer.

The deadline for entries is October 31, 2018. First, second, third and honorable mention prizes will be awarded in each category. Winning images will be featured online and in a traveling exhibit during 2019. The exhibit of 2018 contest winners is currently on display around the state.
