POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Wildlife Monographs Editor-in-Chief

Application Period: Open till filled, application review to begin 1 October 2016 Preferred Start Date: First Quarter 2017 (negotiable with successful applicant) Compensation: A modest stipend is offered.

The Wildlife Society seeks applicants for the position of Editor-in-Chief for its pre-eminent peer-reviewed publication, Wildlife Monographs. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for coordinating production with authors, consulting editors, TWS Council and staff, and TWS' journal publisher. Issues of Wildlife Monographs are produced at irregular intervals, and the number of issues per year has recently ranged from one to five.

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual who has a proven ability to work and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to assume Editor-in-Chief duties. Desired qualifications include experience publishing in peer- reviewed journals, a Ph.D. in wildlife or related field, experience as an Associate Editor or Editor-in-Chief of a peer-reviewed journal, knowledge of TWS and TWS journals, and a diversity of experience within the wildlife discipline.

Applications should consist of a curriculum vita, a summary of previous experience as a peer-reviewed journal editor, a statement of editorial philosophy, and an indication of support from a candidate's employer, if applicable. The position is open until filled, with the intent to select a new Editor-in-Chief by Dec. 31, 2016. Review of applications will begin on Oct. 1, 2016.
