Miss. Science Museum Hosting 'Birdsong and Bluegrass'

JACKSON—The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks' Museum of Natural Science invites you to a new event: "Birdsong and Bluegrass" on Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Bryan Ledford & the Accumulators and The Vernon Brothers will entertain museum visitors, and food will be available for purchase.

"Good food, good music, and birdsong: what a great way to enjoy spring!" says Charles Knight, Museum Director.

· Take a guided nature walk, listen to bluegrass music, explore hands-on birding activities, and see a spectacular live birds of prey program as part of the museum's celebration of International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) which highlights the importance of international efforts to conserve birds!

· Celebrate Mother's Day a day early and treat mom to a beautiful gift basket from the museum's gift shop!

· Watch area art clubs as they create a sidewalk chalk bird mural! Local artists will also exhibit their work!

· Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi who attend will meet requirements toward their IMBD patch and Cub Scouts will meet requirements for the Naturalist Badge!
