Weekend of Cranes, Sparrows and Optics in Wisconsin

MIDDLETON, WI-September 24, 2014-Bird Watcher's Digest and Eagle Optics will host a weekend of birds and optics with birding-optics-testing experts Diane and Michael Porter, October 17-19, 2014, in Middleton, Wisconsin. A few spots remain available.

Attendees will spend the weekend birding and having fun with the Porters, Ben Lizdas of Eagle Optics, and Bird Watcher's Digest publisher and editor, Bill Thompson, III. On the agenda is a behind-the-scenes tour of the International Crane Foundation, the only spot on Earth where all 15 of the world's crane species reside. We'll also visit the legendary cabin where Aldo Leopold wrote his best-selling book, A Sand County Almanac, and participate in a sparrow ID workshop. The event will kick off Friday evening with a Wisconsin-style cookout and social hour at the Eagle Optics headquarters. Afterward, the Porters and Bill Thompson, III, will offer an optics evaluation and cleaning. Various birding events will begin Saturday morning and end Sunday afternoon.
